A Note to our Members – From our Grateful Chamber!

Dear Valued Members,

Throughout these past weeks, we have finally begun to see conditions improving, and some restrictions are being lifted and loosened. This “light at the end of the tunnel” moment has been a long time coming, as this unprecedented year and a half has been unbelievably difficult for all of us.

On behalf of myself and the Massapequa Chamber of Commerce, I wanted to take a moment and write to our members, and let you all know how proud we are to lead this organization comprised of such an amazing group of businesses. While navigating through this pandemic, our members did exactly what was needed to keep us going. You followed the guidelines and re-opened safely. You went through the time-consuming and often frustrating process of applying for loans and grants to do everything possible to maintain your business and retain your employees. You did this while still taking care of your families and dealing with personal stress and heartbreak. Our essential businesses remained open and came to work every day to support our community in a time of extreme fear and uncertainty. Because of your perseverance, you kept Massapequa thriving…you kept Massapequa STRONG!

Of course, there are still obstacles, and it will take a long time to fully recover from the events of the past year. Programs and options are still available to help with funding. For example, in another effort to provide a major boost to businesses, County Executive Laura Curran proposed a major business recovery program to direct approximately $25 million in American Recovery Plan (ARP) funds to grants, loans, and assistance to Nassau’s downtown businesses. For more information and to check your availability, you can call the County Executive’s office at (516) 571-3131. As a Chamber, we will continue to forward information to you regarding programs like this, or anything else that may be of assistance to you.

As always, if you need any assistance and feel like we could help you in any way, please feel free to reach out to me directly at (516) 633 – 1435, or you can call our office at (516) 541 – 1443 or e-mail masscoc@aol.com.

Thank you for your continued dedication and hard work in our community – because of you, we are and always will be MASSAPEQUA STRONG!

Sincerely,
Keith R. Wilson, President
Massapequa Chamber of Commerce
