June 10, 2021
Dear Merchants, Business Owners, and Fellow Members:
The month of June brings great weather and the end of the fiscal year, which means the end of the Chamber business year as well – a year which we all want to forget and never go back to again as far as the pandemic goes. We managed to get through this, and with the help of God, we will all be safe as the days go by and this stays in the rearview mirror. Our thoughts and prayers are with all of you out there as we mourn the loss of all loved ones that passed from this serious pandemic. May they all rest in God’s Care.
The month of June also brings the Installation and the honoring of our volunteer firefighters in the Massapequa and North Massapequa Fire Departments. We look forward to this every year, as our firefighters are certainly very deserving of this honor, as they put their lives on the line many times during the year and get no compensation. Their dedication is immeasurable, and I look forward to June 24th at Bacaro Italian Tavern in Massapequa Park when we host them.
The Installation brings with it our new Board and some new Board Members. I wish them all well, and look forward to working with them as I start my second year as the President of this great Chamber.
We will participate in the July 4th parade in Massapequa Park as always, and we will have our Annual Festival on August 15th. Please see Shelley or Tony Ventiera for details and information. We are proud to tell you that we have selected Joseph Saladino as our Grand Marshal for this year, and he has accepted. We are most grateful for the Town’s cooperation in our Festival, and hope for good weather and a great participation by all. Please tell all of your friends to come down that day – as they are all tired of being cooped up by now!
I congratulate all the members businesses that have children or grandchildren who graduated college or high school this year. If they received any scholarships, I applaud them and wish them the best.
We have just secured two more grants for the Chamber. Patty Orzano is still working hard on these efforts, and we all owe her a debt of gratitude for all of her work in this area.
Please look for details in the fall for our Trade Show and Craft Fair that we will be holding, as well as our Networking Nights.
I am also proud to tell you that Sal Polito and I are still at Exit Realty Dreams on Broadway in Massapequa, and look forward to doing business with you if there are any Real Estate needs that you and your families may have. You can call me at (516) 633 – 1435 if you need any assistance with sales, rentals, leases, or other like matters in this field. I have over 30 years of experience and look forward to hearing from you.
Lastly, I wish for all a great summer and safe vacation season. If you are traveling, be safe and be home safely as well!
Keith Wilson, President
Massapequa Chamber of Commerce
