President’s Message – November 2021

November 15, 2021

Dear Merchants, Business Owners, and Fellow Members:

We are all looking forward to a great Thanksgiving season, and I wish for all to be safe and happy with your families around your dinner tables.

We attended the Nassau Council of Chambers of Commerce Annual Businessperson of the Year Awards Breakfast on October 29th at the Crest Hollow Country Club. Our honorees were Howard Ritzer of Long Island Media Group and the Fuchs Family of Massapequa Center Rehabilitation and Nursing. Both were very appreciative for their recognition. There was a crowd of over 500 attendees, and it was very well done.

We have just come off of our Holiday Fair on Sunday, November 14th, chaired by Robin Hepworth and Janice Talento. It was a wonderful event, and we were all sold out of vendor spaces. My thanks to both Robin and Janice and their committee for a great job.

We are looking forward to the November 18th meeting at Smokin’ Al’s, as we will be honoring all of the various veterans organizations in Massapequa. Chairman Sal Polito promises a great time for all attendees. We will start at 12:00 Noon like always.

Thanks to Patty Orzano and her committee for all of their hard work on the Food Drive. Toys for Tots will also kick off as we look forward to a great Christmas season for all.

We will also have the Christmas Tree Lighting and Hanukkah Celebration on Broadway at Klestinec Park (by James Funeral Home) on Saturday, December 4th at 6:00 PM. Please bring all of your family members and kids to attend and enjoy the music, entertainment from local dance studios, and a visit from Santa as we light up the community for the holidays. Amy Recco and her committee are doing a great job, and we look forward to a fun evening.

Renewal dues notices have gone out, and we have been getting returns already. We ask all to remit ASAP and keep our membership strong.

I wish for all a happy Thanksgiving and great Hanukkah season as we get into the final weeks of 2021 and look forward to a great, healthy 2022.

Keith Wilson, President
Massapequa Chamber of Commerce
