Dear Fellow Members,
I hope all are still faring well with the pandemic and staying healthy. My prayers are that you are, and that all are doing well with the virus. Please let’s all keep it that way.
The Chamber has been busy. Our last meeting was held at Smuggler Jack’s, and all enjoyed the first luncheon for the summer General Meeting. We had our committee reports, and at that time all were attentive to support the committees.
Our next luncheon will be held on September 24, 2020 at 12:00 Noon at Gusto Divino Trattoria, and we will be honoring the Nassau Police Department representatives that will be in attendance. We will be presenting the honorees with plaques and the recognition that they deserve. We will always support the Nassau Police in our area and give them the recognition that again is well-deserved. To register for the meeting, visit massapequachamber.org.
Our Budget Committee met over the summer, and thanks to Chairman Steve Parmiter, Treasurer Greg Massimi, and committee members Gary Slavin and Pat Orzano, we have a budget approved by our Board of Directors in place for the fiscal year as per our bylaws, and we will let this guide us as we go along, adjusting accordingly.
We remind all to keep watch and drive carefully, as school is now open. Our schools are all geared up for the fall and regular sessions as needed, and we will now be kicking off the regular workings of the Chamber as well.
On the good news side, we should all congratulate our office administrator Shelley and her husband Chris who were recently married. We wish them both well and a great future together. Shelley does great work for us, and we are glad to have her in the office on a daily basis.
Finally, I have directed Shelley that we will mail out the membership dues notices for 2021 earlier than usual, and get the needed income to fund the operations of the Chamber as necessary. Shelley will also start to call all the members in the fall again after the dues notices are mailed out, and remind all to remit as soon as possible.
I look forward to our leaves changing colors and the fall weather coming soon for all to enjoy. Please keep reviewing the guidelines for safety from the CDC and Nassau County regarding re-openings and other issues.
Stay safe, and if you need us, just call the office at (516) 541-1443.
